OPEN LANDSCAPE NOW! Only Through Diversity is an exhibition based on the extensive research performed through the project  “Civic activism and advocacy in the Hartibaciu Valley. Preserving the open landscape”. It spotlights the biggest protected terrestrial area from Romania, one of the most diverse cultural landscapes in Europe, the Hârtibaciu Highlands, showcasing, in a succession of artworks and installations, data visualisation compositions and manifest mediations, why it is crucial to maintain this cultural landscape alive, diverse and open. The exhibition is also a movement of participative protest against the current brutal interventions that are made by large-scale agricultural players in the area, fundamentally altering the landscape, causing local extinction of species and cultures. It offers a series of economic and cultural alternatives for possible future scenarios that harmonise with the landscape.
