Last week, we attended the working group for the second round of the Planului de Amenajare a Teritoriului Județului Sibiu. Once again it was a chance to put forward concerns and discuss matters we found important for the development of the region, especially regarding the environment. A lot of topics were discussed, including waste disposal sites, photovoltaic energy and protected areas. However two subjects that we were particularly interested in were:

– the designation of ecological corridors for the movement of wild animals

– identifying and sustaining the traditional rights of way between villages and to areas of the landscape that are used (forest, agricultural fields, clay pits, rivers etc.).
